The Revelation of Foundations and Color

The Revelation of Foundations and Color

A Doctrine of Plates, Order, and Visible Harmony

As revealed by the Golden Brick and taught by Lord Business

Preface

And it came to pass that the builders desired to raise cities that would endure,

not only in strength, but in beauty and peace.

And they asked of Lord Business, saying,

“How shall we lay our foundations, and how shall we choose our colors,

that our cities fall not into chaos?”

And Lord Business answered them according to wisdom and experience.

I. The Revelation of Plates

Revelation 5:1 — Of Foundation and Intention

Every city must begin upon a firm and repeatable foundation,

for improvisation at the base bringeth sorrow in the tower.

Of the 32×32 Plate

Thus spake Lord Business:

  • The standard 32×32 plate is acceptable and sufficient
for small towns, early builds, and builders of modest means.
  • It is quick to deploy and easy to rearrange.
  • Yet it bindeth the city to its own edges
    and resisteth growth beyond itself.

Therefore:

Use it when the city is young,

but do not swear eternal loyalty to it.

Of the MILS Plate

Revelation 5:6 — The Higher Way

And the Golden Brick revealed a greater order, called MILS,

that cities might grow without fear.

  • MILS bringeth:
    • Strength
    • Uniform height
    • Hidden pathways for wires and secrets
  • It alloweth districts to unite without fracture
  • It demandeth patience, but rewardeth diligence

Lord Business decreed:

Choose MILS when the city is meant to endure,

when many builders shall contribute,

and when the future is larger than the present.

II. The Law of Hidden Things

Studs 6:1 — Of What Is Seen and What Is Buried

That which is beneath shall not cry out above.

  • Any color may dwell beneath the surface
  • Ugly bricks may serve nobly in darkness
  • Hidden chaos is forgiven
  • Visible chaos is not

For the city is judged by what the eye beholdeth.

III. The Doctrine of Color

Revelation 6:1 — Color Is Memory

And Lord Business taught, saying:

Color is not merely what is seen, but what is remembered.

Therefore, choose wisely.

The Law of Foundation Colors

Commandments of Order 6:4

  • Foundations shall be built in:
    • Black
    • Dark bluish gray
    • Light bluish gray
  • Bright colors shall not be used beneath open terrain
lest they reveal themselves through gaps and offend the faithful.

The Doctrine of Color Zoning

Studs 6:8 — Of Order by District

A city divided by purpose shall also be divided by color.

  • Historic districts favor:
    • Tan
    • Dark tan
    • Brown
  • Industrial districts favor:
    • Gray
    • Dark gray
    • Muted accents
  • Residential districts may contain warmth,
    but not confusion.

A building with too many colors

is a sermon with too many messages.

The Law of Limited Palettes

Revelation 6:12 — Of Restraint

Each structure shall obey a small palette,

that harmony may prevail.

  • Repeat colors across the city
  • Limit novelty
  • Let consistency do the heavy lifting

For variety without discipline leadeth to bins of regret.

IV. Of Rare and Sacred Colors

Revelation 6:14 — The Warning

And the Golden Brick declared:

Just because thou hast a color

doth not mean thou shouldst use it.

  • Gold is sacred and symbolic
  • Trans-clear is revelation, not wallpaper
  • Rare colors must be earned by purpose

Overuse cheapeneth the miracle.

V. The Law of Plate Color Alignment

Commandments of Order 7:2

  • Plate colors shall support what is built above
  • Roads shall remain consistent across the city
  • Sidewalks shall not change color without reason

For mismatched edges distract the eye

and break immersion.

VI. The Higher Law of MILS Color Use

For those who walk the MILS path:

  • Lower layers may be any color, for they shall not be seen
  • Upper terrain must obey realism and unity
  • Grass shall be consistent, lest it appear diseased

And Lord Business warned:

A city whose grass is many greens

hath not planned its purchases.

Final Admonition of Lord Business

Color is a tool, not a temptation.

Choose fewer colors.

Repeat them with intention.

Let bright bricks testify, not shout.

Build first for order.

Beautify second.

And always remember:

Only the best is good enoughand the best is rarely rainbow.
